How to clean the induction hob

The hob is induction glass ceramic and without stove  and is configured as a smooth and uniform shelf, without buttons, without cracks. Its operating principle also heats pots and pans without the hob being heated directly: for this reason the surface never gets hot and therefore any splashes or overflows do not stick or char.

Due to these characteristics, it is much easier to clean than the traditional gas hob. But simpler doesn't mean you shouldn't pay attention to how and with which products to clean it!

Here are some practical tips for cleaning an induction hob without damaging it!

For ordinary cleaning

For residues of non-greasy dirt, splashes or even just to remove dust, simply use a damp microfibre cloth on the glass ceramic hob. If the splashes or dirt are from grease or oil, you can use the same microfibre cloth but with a little liquid dish detergent, then wipe again with the same cloth after rinsing it well

Due to the risk of scratches and abrasions it is important never to use abrasive sponges, scouring pads or even kitchen paper, better not to risk it!

For a deeper cleaning

If, on the other hand, you are in the presence of limescale stains, it will be useful to use a cream specially designed for glass ceramics or a homemade solution with white vinegar (or as an alternative to diluted white vinegar, lemon juice). Dry with a microfiber cloth and you're done!

Products for cleaning the induction hob

For the cleaning induction hobs better to use specific detergents combined with a non-abrasive sponge or a simple damp cloth. If you have specific products for glass ceramic hobs at home, you can very well use those!

Induction hob cleaning kits are easily found in the home hygiene department of large shopping centres. Not all small supermarkets, on the other hand, are able to supply products suitable for the cleaning the induction hob.

Also beware of traditional sponges. The classic kitchen sponge has a more abrasive, rough or hard side. If this layer was not specially developed for the induction hob… scratches are certain! Repairing a scratched induction hob is a very difficult mission, so choose specific sponges.
